In times of increasing requirements for tire retailer and tire hotels, the GL Messtechnik GmbH developed a measurement station, which scan the profile depth of a tire and document them during the process of placing them in stock to unburden the personnel involved in that process. Through our measurement technique human measuring failures will be eliminated and a realistic replicability of measurement results is ensured. The evaluation of the data occurs by diverse measuring sectors and is automatically run in the background. Individual measurement sectors enable that both shoulder sections of the tire could be evaluated separately from the actual TWI area. With this, more evaluation possibilities can be provided, for example a one sided wear or an inaccurate air pressure in the tire. The TSS optionally can also be equipped with a camera system to provide a picture of the tire and its matching wheel rim.
